Sony Ericcson Java Software Installation

INSTALL SOFTWARE
1. Install jdk-1.5
2. Install Net beans 4.0
3. Install Net beans mobility
4. cd semc_j2me
5. Install semc_j2me


RUN A DEMO PROGRAM IN EMULATOR
6. Start Net beans (desktop icon)
   New project
   <next>
   category: Mobile
   Project:  Mobile Application
   <nect>
   (specify name, e.g. SETest)
   <next>
   Emulator Platform: J2ME Wl Tk2.3 (default)
   Device Config. CLDC-1.1 (default)
   Device Profile MIDP-2.0 (default)
   <finish>
7. Build Main Project (F11) from main menu
8. Run Main Project (F6) from main menu
   Mobile phone window appears
   Click on Launch to start "HelloMIDlet"
   Click on Exit to terminate
   Close Window

9. Select Tools / Java Platform Manager
   Select Add Platform ..
   Select: C:\SonyEricsson\J2ME_SDK\PC_Emulation\WTK2
   <next>
   <next>
   <finish>
   <close>
10. Select File / SETest Properties
    Emlator Pltform: Sony Ericsson J2ME SDK 2.1.4
    Device: SonyEricsson_Z1010
    <ok>
11. Repeat build (F11) and run (F6),
    then you see the emulator with the correct phone


RUN A DEMO PROGRAM ON THE PHONE:
12. Insert SonyEriccson Z1010 CD-ROM and istall Suite
13. Connect the phone with the USB cable to the PC.
14. Switch phone on -- follow New Hardware wizard
    <finish>
    Reboot (windows will ask you for it)
15. Select Windows Start / All Programs /
    SonyEriccson / J2ME / Connection Proxy
16. Select File / Settings
    Set correct serial port, e.g. COM3 
17. Click on Connect
18. Select Windows Start / All Programs /
    SonyEriccson / J2ME / Device Explorer
19. Click File / Install
    JAD file Browse ...
    (select project files) e.g. C:\Documents and Settings\...\SETest\dist\
      SETest.jad
    JAR file Browse ...
      SETest.jar
    <install>
    <OK>
20. On phone: select Entertainment (4 directions and middle button)
    Select Games & more
    Select SETest
21. Run by clicking middle button
22. Exit by clicking More, then select Exit from menu.
