EyeBot M6

Prof. Dr. Thomas Bräunl, The Univ. of Western Australia

EyeBot M6 is a new generation of an embedded vision system. It shares some of the design ideas with the EyeBot controllers M1-M6, but is a completely new hardware and software development. M6 uses a much more powerful combination of an ARM9 controller together with a Xilinx FPGA, which will take care of sensor/actuator preprocessing, including low-level image processing, freeing up the CPU for high level tasks. M6 is now equipped with stereo cameras, a color touch screen, numerous motor outputs and sensor inputs, host USB, slave USB, Ethernet LAN and Bluetooth wireless communication. M6 is powerful embedded vision system for various stationary or mobile applications. It can still be used as an embedded controller for all types of mobile robots.
